Birrung (star) Room – Babies
Our nursery room is a soft, welcoming and engaging space where the children are able to explore and engage with different textures as they navigate their environment. Our educators work closely with each child to develop meaningful connections, which allows are babies to develop a sense of belonging within their environment.
We value close partnerships with our families, we strongly believe that by coming together as a community we are able to provide the best possible care for your child. We follow home routines, and cater to each child’s individual needs.
Guwing (sun) Room – Toddlers
Within our toddlers’ room, our educators create a warm and stimulating environment where all children are made to feel safe and secure. We believe that by allowing the children to gain a sense of belonging within their room they are able to become competent and capable learners.
Through play-based learning our toddlers are able to explore their indoor and outdoor environments while using a wide range of resources, which assist in developing their emerging independence.
During your child’s time in the toddler room their days will be filled with encouragement to use self-help skills, build vocabulary, develop friendships, as well as extend upon their interests and abilities.
Relationships with families plays a critical role within our toddler room, as these relationships develop strong links between home and the centre. These relationships form effective and valued partnerships that benefit the education and care of your child.
Yanada (moon) Room – Preschool
Our preschool room provides daily opportunities to learn in both the indoor and outdoor environments. We believe that learning can occur through many different types of play experiences, we encourage children to become actively involved in their own learning by exploring each child’s developing interests and value family input in our program.
We assist the children in their development of becoming independent learners and in gaining confidence in their self-help skills. By providing open ended creative experiences, we are fostering your child’s ability to problem solve, make decisions, gain respect for their peers and work within a team.
During your child’s time within our preschool room they will participate in play-based school readiness learning, that will allow them to gain the skills to navigate big school with a sense of self. Play is a critical learning tool that allows your child to develop a sense of belonging as they take risks, explore, problem solve and engage in open conversations – all of which are fundamental in developing literacy, numeracy and social skills.
Outdoor Environment
- The Baby Lane: A smaller space conveniently located off the Baby room is the baby outdoor area. We wanted to ensure that we provided a space for our youngest to enjoy the outdoors in a safe and age appropriate area.
- The Toddler Lane: Is the main outdoor play area which is accessed directly off the Toddler and Preschool rooms. We have an under-cover area that can be used when the weather is not great and an expansive naturally landscaped space which provides plenty of physical and mental stimulation.
